This is becoming a pattern - Larry had a seizure today, while I was out.  I haven't left the house since I came home from the hospital on Thursday, but today - had a doctor appointment, so was out.

He took his meds, and it didn't progress much farther than a bit of a twitch.  He's napping right now, because the meds make him tired.

Larry's had another seizure, again while I wasn't home.  I guess I'm not allowed to go out any more lol

The seizures are getting less intense, and less frequent.  This is a good thing!

Larry's also starting to get a bit more exercise - he'd stopped for a bit, so I'm happy he's moving a bit more.  Not for weight loss, just to keep his blood pressure down.

We also bought some compression socks.  Wow - what a difference in his feet!  They're not nearly as puffy, and I think they feel better too.

Larry's also noticed a bit more mobility in his toes and fingers - I think he's still healing a bit, and who knows - maybe he'll get some more functionality in his hand :)

Oops. Better late than never, I guess.

Seizure today - nothing horrible, but I wasn't home.  Luckily Kodi was, and was able to help with the ativan.  It stopped quickly, as always.

it seems the time between seizures is getting longer - which is a very good thing! :)

Botox day!
Getting rid of those unsightly wrinkles on his elbow lol

this one was interesting to watch - she was injecting his thumb area to help with the spasticity, and had a bit of trouble finding the nerve/tendon.  When she did, his thumb had a spasm - freaky to watch, but it meant she hit the right spot.

As usual, Larry's feeling a bit icky - nothing awful, just tired and a bit under the weather.  The botox always does this to him, so we're not worried. I'm very glad pharmacare covers his botox, because it works pretty good - but there's no way we could afford it if it wasn't.

It's May long!

Guess what? Larry celebrated with a seizure.
he was just finishing emptying the dishwasher when he came out and said "my hand feels funny". I said to him "have a seat" and he heard "let me see" - so I knew something was up.

he sat down, and his hand started to go - so we grabbed the ativan, put his feet up and got him comfortable.  After he got the ativan, it only took 2 minutes to work. *whew*    While waiting for it to work, the seizure progressed to almost his shoulder, so I'm glad we decided no more waiting to see if it stops, just giving the med right away.  It works well, and since it had been almost 4 months without a seizure, it was warranted.

Larry continues to do well, and there's still some small progress being made, so that's good. :)

Happy Chinese New Year! :D

Larry decided to celebrate with a seizure :(

He was getting water said "my hand feels funny" then went "it's gonna go!" - less than 15 seconds from that to sitting, and getting the meds.

This one would have been bad if we'd waited the usual couple of minutes for meds.  We decided to give the ativan right away, and in the 2 minutes it took to stop the seizure (longest two minutes EVER, I swear) it went from twitchy finger to almost his shoulder!

So, from now on, no waiting. as soon as it starts, meds will be given. Thank goodness for them - it would be so much worse if he didn't have them!

January 23, 2017

Well, the day passed like any other day, which is a small milestone.
I realized it on the 25th that ...hey, it's the 25th... huh...
I did feel a bit of a let down, but in another way it's a healing.

Larry is doing well, all things considered.  We think he may have had a small seizure on the  17th at the dentist, but I wasn't there and it didn't last - so not sure.

I just wish that Larry could sleep better - the meds give him vivid dreams, that he wakes up from with a jolt - and that makes the day just blech. :(
