Whoa!

Larry is starting to have some conscious movement in his left hand!  Not consistent, and not always exactly what he wants, but he opened and closed his fingers today! :D :D :D

November 17, 2015

If only no news was good news :P

Larry is still having hand/arm seizures as well as "full body" seizures.  He doesn't lose consciousness or control of bodily functions, but they're still not fun.

Today, we left the apartment for the first time in a few days...for "an adventure to the corner store"!

Adventure all right...

Got there, got about 1/2 way through and Larry tells me "uh oh - I gotta sit down".  We went outside to the bench there, and then his hand started to go. It didn't stop after two minutes, so I gave him an ativan.
I don't think we got it in the right place, because it took over 5 minutes to work...so Larry had to deal with a full body seizure, outside in the cold, on a stone bench.  I couldn't hold his legs and head at the same time - I chose to hold his head/torso, so he's going to hurt like hell tomorrow. :(

The good thing - every single person who went by asked if we needed help!  No thanks, we're okay.  We don't need an ambulance.  A paramedic stopped, and offered to stay until Larry was done seizing.  Her name was Chantal - thank you.  She'll never read this, but still...

Since Larry needed time to recover, I finished the shopping, and then took it home.  Came back with his cane, and we shuffled home slowly.  I could see him gaining his strength back with each step, so that was good.  A nap and supper, and he's doing okay now...very tired and still a bit "ativaned" up, but doing okay.
He was saying yesterday and this morning that he just felt "off".  We thought it was the weather, but apparently it was the seizure coming.
Needless to say, it's doubtful he's going to the Jets game tomorrow.  Which sucks :(  Maybe Mike will come by on the weekend to watch one... or we could go there :D
