January 23, 2017

Well, the day passed like any other day, which is a small milestone.
I realized it on the 25th that ...hey, it's the 25th... huh...
I did feel a bit of a let down, but in another way it's a healing.

Larry is doing well, all things considered.  We think he may have had a small seizure on the  17th at the dentist, but I wasn't there and it didn't last - so not sure.

I just wish that Larry could sleep better - the meds give him vivid dreams, that he wakes up from with a jolt - and that makes the day just blech. :(

Botox day!
As Larry says - get rid of those annoying hand wrinkles :D
It works pretty good, keeps his hand from tightening up too much.

November 30, 2016

Larry had a follow up appointment with the cardiologist today.

We got there nice and early...and waited a long long time :P  As usual, but all good.

the appointment itself went very well!  This echo, as compared to the one just before his stroke - is great!
The one in 2014 showed significant weakness and enlargement of ventricles.  This one showed a lot less.
There is, of course, margins of error on both. However, since Larry is feeling well and isn't showing any symptoms of heart disease (and is on all meds that he'd be on anyway) - nothing more needs to be done. :) YAY!

Saturday Nov 26, 2016

well, about 6 weeks between seizures isn't bad... I was hoping for more.

It's been a bit of a stressful week for Larry with the weather changes and not getting a lot of sleep the past few days. Add to that a bit of anxiety about the weekend (dinner dates, etc).  He also had a pill mishap a few days ago, so that probably contributed.

Also noticed that yesterday he was just miserable, and couldn't figure out why. I'm going to go with that it's his "aura" for seizures.

still, we're getting good at it.  He called me, let me know what was going on, I grabbed his meds and we got it under control in 5 minutes all told.  Thank goodness for Ativan, I tell you!  This one would have gone full body, I think - it went from tremors in his finger to his shoulder in 3 minutes.

He said to me "I now understand posts in my support group that have 'Xdays seizure free'".  I know he was hoping to have healed from them by now, but they are lessening in frequency and severity  - so hopefully he'll keep improving.

November 17, 2016

Not a whole lot to report, other than Larry managed a full 5 days alone :)

I went to visit my dad, who's recovering from colon cancer surgery, and Larry stayed home by himself.  No issues whatsoever, which is great!

October 14, 2016

Well, to top of a normally shitty day for me, Larry just had a seizure.  Meds worked, it only lasted about 5 minutes, but still.  @#$@#!!!!!

The good news is that in the past year, he's only had 8 seizures - better than the year before when it was over 12.  I'm hoping they lessen more over time :)

September 17, 2016

Seizure free since July! Woot!

Not much going on - just working on keeping up progress from physio/OT.

Will up date as required, but as you can see - it's not going to be often.  :)  A quiet life is a good thing.
